We love CrossFit athletes, especially when they’re doing what they love best.  Competition is part of the life’s blood of a Crossfitter, and getting to see so many American teams beast up at the 2013 Crossfit Games made it for us here at Stud Bar Pullup.  These athletes are some of the fittest on earth, and we thought that they deserved some mention here.  Congratulations!

We thought that you would enjoy a little bit about the boxes.  It’s time to see how these boxes make some pull up magic.

Receiving second place in the 2013 games, this team has been fighting hard to get back on top since their 2011 victory. After a disappointing 2012, they’ve sprung back and are fighting hard to knock off Hack’s Pack UTE.

CrossFit Adrenaline

Coming out of nowhere in 2012, this team out of the tiny town of Cartersville, GA took second place at the South East Regional and placed 22nd in the Reebok Crossfit Games. This year, they took third overall, and claimed first place in the final team event. Look out for this team in 2014!

CrossFit Fort Vancouver

Winners of the 2010 games, this team has been fighting hard to get back into the top position since they came out of nowhere. They netted the top position barely a year after their box opened, and have shown strong performances despite juggling the demands of children and jobs. They placed first in the squat burpee event in the 2013 games.

They finished the 2013 regional open in 3rd place and hoped to place stronger in the final games. After facing numerous setbacks during earlier games, they managed to finish in a very strong 5th place overall and made 1st place in the Legless event.

 CrossFit Kilo

Led by Lance Corporal Armand McCormick, CrossFit Kilo puts in Marine-style discipline into his team training. He yells burpee and they burpee! The results show, having won the 2013 North Central regionals and improving over their 8th place position in the 2013 games.

CrossFit Invictus

The “Sea of Green” team has placed a respectable 7th place in the games, but down from last year’s position of 4th overall. Their head coach attributes their overall success to mutual team support over individual achievement. You can’t deny that this team has fun out there on the field!

Diablo CrossFit

This year the Diablo team made it to the games and placed 8th overall, a big drop from last year’s 3rd place overall win. They stumbled in the Legless and Iditarod 2 events, but placed a strong 3rd place win in the Ascending Chipper 2 event.

Crossfit Nordic - Top 20 Crossfit Games Stud Bar Pull Up Bar

CrossFit Nordic

The top-finisher out of the European teams this year, CrossFit Nordic is another team to watch in future games. Their aim was to place first in the Europe Regional competition. In a fierce competition with CrossFit Thor, they managed to squeak out the win and qualified for the Reebok CrossFit games, taking home a 9th place win.

CrossFit Dallas Central

They came out strong in the first day of the games, beating Hack’s Pack UTE by a single point, but fell back to 10th place overall by the end of the games. This is down from last year’s 7th place finish, but still very high considering there were 43 teams who qualified to compete in the games.

Jet City CrossFit

A huge improvement over last year’s standings has thrown Jet City CrossFit from 20th place to 11th place in the 2013 games. It will be interesting to see if they can crack the top ten in the 2014 games.

Crossfit Active Logo - Top 20 Crossfit Games Stud Bar Pull Up Bar

CrossFit Active

The Orange Army coming out of Australia, CrossFit Active won 2nd in the 2013 Australia regional competition and placed 12th in the overall standings. They had an amazing showing at the Worm portion of the finals and placed second in that event less than 30 seconds under first place team CrossFit Adrenaline.

CrossFit Atlanta

CrossFit Atlanta Formulx edged out against CrossFit Adrenaline in the regional competition, but had difficulty in the overall games. Team member Leah Polaski had bloodied both sides of her face working the Worm in the Reebok Crossfit Team Finals reaching sixth in that event with her team. In the overall standings, they managed to place fifth or above in three events.

This team has won the Australia regional competition twice in a row now. They’ve been setting the bar since opening one of the first CrossFit boxes in Australia back in 2006. They finished two places under their major Australian competition CrossFit Active.

CrossFit Explode

Their initial goal was to finish the regionals in third, but their effort netted them a first place finish and a ticket back the games after a disqualification last year enabled them to compete. This year they made it legit and made it all the way to the final event.

UTE CrossFit Sugarhouse

As if one team wasn’t enough from UTE, here’s UTE’s second team coming into the finals. Given the number of teams above that started low one year and shot up the next, might we see two UTE teams in the top 10 or even the top 5 next year? Time will tell.

Crossfit Stodin - Top 20 Crossfit Games Stud Bar Pull Up Bar

CrossFit Stodin

Crossfit Stodin is another European team, this time from Iceland. Their team Thor finished behind Crossfit Nordic in the European regional competition. As CrossFit spreads, Europe is turning out some strong competitors from their northern countries. Will they be able to rise in the ranks?

Quad City CrossFit

QCCF, as they’re more commonly known, went into their regional games hoping to get into the top five of each event. They pulled it off in all but one and finished second behind CrossFit Kilo. Will their Team Awesome make a comeback and place higher in the full games next year?

Reebok CrossFit Reykjavik

Here is the second team from Iceland that competed in the games in 2013. This team, CrossFit Nordic, and CrossFit Stodin are the teams to watch if you’re a fan of European CrossFit. Individual Women’s hopeful Annie Thorisdottir had to bow out this year due to a back injury.

CrossFit Wilmington

Finally we come to the team that placed last in the finals, but remember that there were 23 other teams that got cut that competed and many others that didn’t even qualify! Just to show how tough they are, they did get first on the Iditarod 1 event during the finals, and only 36 points separated 15th place from 20th place. That’s a very slim margin.

These guys are the best of the best.  There are thousands of Crossfit boxes located all over the world.   If you find that you’re needing a little inspiration, take a walk into one of them and get started today.
